Clearbrook Vaccinates Over 3,500 Staff, Individuals, and Caregivers

Many people and businesses had to adjust to a new life last year due to COVID-19. Over the course of the pandemic, Clearbrook staff and families showed strength in continuing to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Although Clearbrook, along with the rest of the world, is still fighting the battle that is COVID-19, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Since January, Clearbrook has vaccinated more than 3,500 individuals, staff, and caregivers through several vaccine clinics. Clearbrook President and CEO, Anthony Di Vittorio, says “Clearbrook staff were tenacious when they heard vaccines were available and that our people were eligible. They called pharmacies, set up clinics at our facilities, and organized everything.”

Clearbrook hopes to continue hosting clinics when the vaccine becomes available for everyone. The hope is to open clinics to people who have a connection to the intellectual and developmental disability world. The nonprofit’s first focus is to ensure all in the Clearbrook community have the opportunity to get the shot.

Clearbrook, based in Arlington Heights, enriches the lives of over 8,000 individuals and families each year. Clearbrook West, an expansion of Clearbrook, empowers over 200+ individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in McHenry County and the surrounding area. You can find Clearbrook West enriching lives in over 39 communities and six locations.
