Letter: Solution to container jam up in California

keyboard

Here’s a solution to the container jam up in Los Angeles. I have owned a trucking company since 1977. I have moved containers many times. Any standard semi-tractor can connect to a container on a container hauling frame. There are thousands of semi-tractors in California and neighboring states.

Illinois has a driver shortage, too. Illinois is the only state in America that requires all people to retest at 75 years old. There is 18 years of Baby Boomers coming. Most are excellent car and truck drivers. This affects the truck driver shortage in Illinois mostly. Even if all these goods get to the Illinois warehouses, will they get to the consumer? I heard on the radio this morning that there is a 90,000 driver shortage in Illinois.
