Letter: Can’t connect with senator

To the Editor:

Today (Sept. 14), I tried contacting U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin’s office in Washington, D.C. Right away, you get a recording that he is not taking messages. “Goodbye.” I tried contacting his Chicago office. Due to COVID-19, everyone is working from home. “Please leave a message and someone will get back to you. Goodbye.” Click. On numerous occasions, I have emailed him and he never, and I do mean never, replies. Dick Durbin is a U.S. senator. He is elected to be ours and to answer to the people. But if you can’t make contact with him, what good is he? Face it, Durbin has been in office too long and it is time to vote him out.
