Letter: What kind of country do we want?

To the Editor:

We are one nation with one flag and one national anthem to stand up for and to honor. The Democratic Party has exploited Black voters for decades. It’s time for that to stop. But they will never stop. They need the Black vote.

The “big lie” is the Democratic Party. Take away their “race card” and “character assassination card” and they are left with little that benefits our country. There is no benefit for open borders that allow undocumented, untested for COVID-19 immigrants to be secretly transported into many of our states. Sanctuary cities, no benefit there. Defunding our police, no benefit there. Promising free stuff while raising taxes, no benefit there. Taking money from responsible red states to bail out financially irresponsible blue states, no benefit there. Discouraging charter schools, no benefit there. Taxpayer money for abortions, no benefit there.

Evil always attacks what God says is the truth and presents a lie as an alternative to the truth. Our Bible still is and always will be relevant. In Matthew 23:28, what Jesus said about the Pharisees then, unfortunately, could be said about many of our political leaders today: “So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” Allowing looting, burning and killing is lawlessness, not a peaceful demonstration. What kind of a country do we want?
