Letter: ICE is detaining those wanted for serious crimes

To the Editor:

McHenry County Board member Kelli Wegener and the Illinois liberals don’t want to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in housing wanted felons on immigration holds here at the county jail and elsewhere in the state. Nevermind the county gets $95 a day per detainee for the room and board costs. ICE is not bothering with those minding their own business. ICE is detaining those wanted for serious crimes. Wegener and other like-minded people would favor these criminal elements instead of the safety and well-being of law-abiding citizens. Shame on the County Board and shame on the state for their leftist myopic wokeness. Call your representatives to voice your opinion.
