Letter: Washington is a cesspool

To the Editor:

The U.S. Congress passed a new stimulus bill that is nearly 6,000 pages long. And Congress wants to be generous and give us a check for $600.

Now you might think this is great but if you consider all the suffering that this COVID-19 has caused, is it really enough? Some people might say yes, but if you read about all the money to be given to all the other countries for all the stupid reasons you would change your mind and say no.

After over five months of wasteful talk, if this is what Congress thinks of the American public, it is a disgrace. A slap in the face and it is about time that America raises up.

Write, e-mail, call your rep’s office and scream. Usually I am not in favor of demonstrations but there are exceptions.

For those who fly the flag, maybe it is time to fly it upside down. A sign of distress and God only knows that this country is in distress.

This Congress is a disgrace. Washington is not a swamp, it is a cesspool.
