Rotary Club of Cary-Grove donates $3K to Fox River Grove library

The Rotary Club of Cary-Grove donated about $3,000 to the Fox River Grove Memorial Library to be used for family literacy programs.

The donation comes from funds from Rotary District 6440, which includes Rotary clubs in Lake, Cook and Kane counties down to Batavia and Wheaton, which were matched dollar for dollar by the Rotary Club of Cary-Grove, according to a news release.

The funds are to be used to buy materials to enhance the library’s “It’s Elementary Science” after-school program that focuses on science, technology, engineering and math curriculum and hands-on activities, according to the release.

The grant also will support the library’s summer reading program and take-and-make kits that provide arts and science activities for children ages 4 to 10 to do at home. The library also will use grant dollars to buy an outdoor canopy to provide shade for summer activities, according to the release.
