Man in critical condition after hitting deer in motorcycle crash near Richmond

Good Samaritan helped give aid to driver until paramedics came, sheriff’s office says

A Wonder Lake Man is in critical condition after hitting a deer with a motorcycle in Richmond, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said.

First responders were called at 8:42 p.m. Friday to the 6900 block of Keystone Road, in unincorporated Richmond, for a traffic crash involving a motorcycle and a deer, Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Byrnes said in an email.

An on-scene investigation found that a 66-year-old Wonder Lake man was driving south on Keystone Road when he crashed into a deer in the roadway and was ejected from the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet, Byrnes said.

The deer was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A Good Samaritan discovered the crash and rendered aid to the driver until paramedics arrived,” Byrnes said.
