Crystal Lake man accused of delivering LSD

A 20-year-old Crystal Lake man faces felony charges after police said he possessed and delivered at least 15 doses of LSD.

Tyler Smith is charged in McHenry County court with delivery of LSD and possession with intent to deliver LSD. The latter charge is a Class X felony typically punishable by as many as 30 years in prison.

Smith is accused of possessing 15 or more doses of LSD on March 4, according to a two-count criminal complaint filed by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office declined to provide additional details Wednesday, including how police came in contact with Smith or what led them to believe he was in possession of LSD.

Smith remained at the McHenry County Jail Wednesday evening on a $200,000 bond. He’s due back in court Friday morning.
