Crystal Lake senior center to return to ‘normal’ operations

The Grand Oaks Active Senior Center is set to resume normal hours of operation on Monday, the Crystal Lake Park District announced Thursday.

The senior center, which is located at 1401 W. Route 176 in Crystal Lake and free to both park district residents and nonresidents, will no longer require reservations and masks will not be required if vaccinated, according to a news release.

Drop-in activities will be held 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, including pick your play on Mondays, mahjong and dominos on Tuesdays, hand and foot on Wednesdays and triple play on Thursdays.

Beanbag baseball will take place on Fridays starting at 10 a.m.

A drop-in craft day also is planned for 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 6 where attendees can bring their own craft to work on while socializing.
