Former Woodstock City Council member to replace District 200′s retiring chief financial officer

Julie Dillon also spent seven years with Woodstock School District 200 as a payroll supervisor

A former Woodstock City Council member who spent seven years as Woodstock School District 200′s payroll supervisor will replace the district’s longtime chief financial officer, who is set to retire June 30.

Julie Dillon, a certified public accountant, is currently the chief school business officer for the Northern Suburban Special Education District in Highland Park, where she has worked for two years, according to a news release.

Along with her work at District 200, Dillon has worked with companies such as Southwest Bell Communications, Motorola and Baxter Healthcare Corp., and she served as an adjunct faculty member at Elgin Community College. She was a member of the Woodstock City Council from 2005 to 2015.

Dillon earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Loyola University and a master’s degree from North Park University.

“I feel so much pride and excitement about everything that’s happening in District 200,” Dillon said in a statement. “My kids went to these schools, so it’s a really good feeling to come back. It feels just like home.”

The school board and Dillon agreed Tuesday to an annual salary of $162,000 for the position, which oversees the district’s finances, according to the release.

“We are very excited to bring Julie Dillon back to District 200,” District 200 Superintendent Mike Moan said in a statement. “Julie is well respected in our district and has gained great experience leading a school district financial department in the last few years.

“Julie’s experience in school finance, along with her ability to relate to people and her high integrity, made her our top candidate.”

Dillon is taking the position previously held by Chief Financial Officer Risa Hanson, who worked for the district for 21 years, including leading the district’s business and finance department for more than 17.
