McHenry man accused of intentionally hitting another vehicle

The man allegedly struck the woman’s vehicle multiple times, yelled at and threatened her.

A 28-year-old McHenry man is due in court on July 7 after police said he threatened a woman, chased her with his vehicle, and intentionally struck her vehicle multiple times.

Alex Marciniak, of the 7300 block of Timber Trail, is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, reckless driving and disorderly conduct.

Marciniak is accused of using his 2012 Honda to “ram” into another woman’s vehicle, injuring her, in an attempt to stop her car, according to a criminal complaint.

The allegedly intentional crashes occurred on June 8 at North Richmond Road and Blake Road, North Richmond Roach and McCullom Lake Road, and the 1700 block of Richmond Road, court records show. The McHenry Police Department could not be reached to provide additional details, including the extent of any injuries that resulted.

The most serious charge against Marciniak, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, is a felony typically punishable by as many as five years in prison.

The man posted $2,500 bail on June 9 and was released from the McHenry County Jail. As a condition of his bond, Marciniak is barred from having contact with the alleged victim, court records show.
