McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office hires new prosecutor for criminal division

The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office hired Christian Michalik, a 2020 law school graduate, as an assistant state’s attorney in its criminal division.

Michalik, who started Monday, graduated in May 2020 from University of Illinois at Chicago’s John Marshall Law School where he was a Dean’s Scholar recipient for three years, according to a news release. He also earned top marks in both trial advocacy and appellate advocacy.

He was the Lead Publications Editor of the Journal of Information Technology and Privacy Law, according to the release.

Michalik also holds a master of business administration from Saint Xavier University in Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Utah.
