High school basketball: IBCA Coach of the Year awards go to Marengo, Burlington Central

Marengo girls basketball coach Nick Rode is the IBCA Class 2A Coach of the Year for District 6 after taking the Indians to the Kishwaukee River Conference title. (Whitney Rupp)

Both Marengo and Burlington Central’s boys and girls basketball coaches were recognized by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association as District 6 Coaches of the Year.

Marengo’s boys and girls teams won the Kishwaukee River Conference championships. Burlington Central’s boys and girls teams won the titles in the Fox Valley Conference.
