Priester, a 2019 C-G graduate, is ranked as MLB Pipeline’s No. 37 prospect among minor league players. Priester (6-foot-3, 210 pounds) is 3-3 with a 3.32 ERA over 38 innings with 37 strikeouts in his nine starts with the Greensboro Grasshoppers, the Pirates’ affiliate in the High-A East League.

American League affiliated players will play against the National League in a seven-inning game. Thirty-two of MLB Pipeline’s top 50 players have been invited to the game.
Priester committed to NCAA powerhouse TCU in high school, but throughout his high school career he pitched in summer showcase events that MLB teams heavily scouted. His pitching starts with the Trojans his senior year became spectacles, with numerous scouts in the stands holding speed guns on his every pitch.
Priester was selected as the 2019 Northwest Herald Baseball Player of the Year and as Male Athlete of the Year.
