Woodstock North tops Antioch in boys basketball, hits 21 of 22 free throws

Woodstock North secured a 75-50 home victory over Antioch on Monday thanks in large part to a strong effort from Gabe Filetti, who scored 24 points and was 12 for 12 at the free-throw line.

Rex White added 14 points and knocked down four 3-pointers in the victory, and Braden Luschei scored 11. The Thunder were 21 for 22 from the foul line, including 16 for 16 in the fourth quarter.

BOYS BOWLING

Huntley 2,820, Marengo 2,521: At Glo Bowl in Marengo, the Red Raiders picked up a road win behind a strong performance from Nick Zummo.

Zummo bowled a 639 series with a high game of 268 and a 213 average over his three games, and Josh Waters had a 563 series and a high game of 223.

GIRLS BOWLING

Woodstock 2,268, Dundee-Crown 1,908: At Kingston Lanes in Woodstock, the Blue Streaks opened their season with a home win over the Chargers.

Norah Mungle led the way for Woodstock with the high game (207) and high series (546) of the match.

McHenry 2,145, Grant 2,143: At Raymond Bowl in Johnsburg, the Warriors snatched a razor-thin home victory over Grant.

Brianna May led McHenry with a high game of 170 and a high series of 487 in the two-pin win, while Emily Carpenter was just behind her with a 485 series and a high game of 168.
