Huntley to use grant to purchase portable speed radar signs

A Northwest Herald file photo shows the "Welcome to Huntley" sign in May 2021.

ComEd and the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus has included Huntley in its 2024 Powering Safe Communities grant program, which has awarded $185,000 to 25 community public safety projects across northern Illinois.

Huntley will use the funds to purchase portable speed radar signs to mitigate traffic speed and provide safer road conditions.

The grants are intended to improve public safety infrastructure, decrease carbon emissions and enhance community preparedness.
