3 employees in La Salle, Bureau counties cited for alcohol sales to minor, say state police

Three of 23 locations surveilled by Illinois State Police in Peru, La Salle, Spring Valley, Princeton and Ladd  were involved in the sale of an alcoholic beverage to a minor.

Three of 23 locations surveilled by Illinois State Police in Peru, La Salle, Spring Valley, Princeton and Ladd were involved in the sale of an alcoholic beverage to a minor, according to authorities.

Spike’s (Peru) employee Victoria Godina, 22, of Peru; Happy Super Service (Spring Valley) employee Esa B. Luna, 20, of Princeton; and Valley News (Spring Valley) employee Himanshu G. Patel, 50, of Peru, were cited on complaints of unlawful delivery of alcoholic liquor to a minor, a Class A misdemeanor. All three employees were given court dates.

Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 3 Agents conducted Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement surveillance at various establishments during the evening hours Oc.t 20. The purpose of these exercises are to determine which businesses may be selling alcoholic beverages to minors.
