Sanctuary hosts Oktoberfest in La Salle

Event will feature children activities, beer garden, German food

Oktoberfest is coming to La Salle from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16.

The city of La Salle has blocked Hennepin Street from First to the mid-block alley to accommodate an Oktoberfest block party being hosted Saturday by local bar Sanctuary, 125 Hennepin St., La Salle; formerly Jim’s Lounge and recently reopened by Dani Brzozowski, of La Salle, and Katie Orsini, of Peru.

The event will feature free children activities, a beer garden and German food to purchase. The Illinois Valley Building and Construction Trades is providing free hot dogs and Casey McGrath’s Fiddlerock! will be featured from 7 to 10 p.m.

“We have been waiting until our gaming machines are in to have a big grand opening,” Brzozowski said in a press release. “But we couldn’t miss this opportunity to serve our community with an Oktoberfest event. The city of La Salle has been great to work with, and we are really grateful that they’re collaborating with us to bring this fun event to La Salle.”
