Back the Badge group to host rally, party in Peru

The Back the Badge organization is hosting a rally and party noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 18, at 315 Fifth St. in Peru.

A parade will take off from the area at 5:30 p.m.

Awards will be given to the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the La Salle and Peru police departments.

During the party, the band Split Rock will perform 1 to 2:30 p.m. and then 3 to 5:30 p.m. The Flo’s food truck and Miller and Coors beer will be available.

There will be a bags tournament and several raffles, including multiple gun raffles and ammo drawings. Also there will be a 50-50 drawing.

The group said it is raising money to buy needed equipment for local departments.

Back the Blue flags and merchandise will be for sale. There will be photo opportunities and “support the police” bumper stickers available.
