Hall boys basketball beats Mendota in Three Rivers Conference East action

Mac Resetich scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds Tuesday to help the Hall boys basketball team to a 53-42 victory over Mendota in a Three Rivers Conference East Division game in Spring Valley.

Drake Garland added 16 points for the Red Devils (7-14, 2-5 TRC East).

Krew Bond had 15 points and five rebounds for Mendota, while Ryne Strouss added 14 points and six rebounds.

Earlville 49, Amboy 39

Griffin Cook scored 20 points and Ryan Browder scored 19 as the Red Raiders (9-14) picked up a nonconference victory Tuesday in Amboy.

Newman 58, St. Bede 47

Brendan Pillion scored 15 points Tuesday as the Bruins dropped a Three Rivers Conference East Division game in Peru.

Callan Hueneburg added nine points for St. Bede.

Dunlap 53, La Salle-Peru 40

The Cavaliers trimmed a nine-point deficit down to four in the fourth quarter but fell in a nonconference game Tuesday in Dunlap.

Kewanee 72, Princeton 67

Teegan Davis scored a game-high 25 points Tuesday as the Tigers lost a Three Rivers Conference East Division game in Kewanee.

Grady Thompson had 20 points for PHS, while Kolten Monroe added 14.

Tremont 50, Fieldcrest 43

The Knights fell in a Heart of Illinois Conference game Tuesday in Tremont.

La Salle-Peru 57, Joliet Catholic 54

Brooklyn Ficek scored 24 points Tuesday as the Cavaliers edged the Angels in a nonconference game in La Salle.

Angela Smudzinski added nine points for L-P (16-5), which overcame a six-point deficit in the third quarter.

Princeton dropped a pair of duals Tuesday, losing 46-31 to Lena-Winslow and 37-24 to Newman.

Payne Miller recorded a pair of pins for PHS.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Black Hawk 77, IVCC 63

Dakota Deverteuil scored 19 points Tuesday as the Eagles lost an Arrowhead Conference game in Oglesby.

A.J. Lee added 11 points for IVCC, which led by as many as 12 points.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Black Hawk 80, IVCC 46

Playing their first game since Dec. 15 after seven consecutive cancelations and with only six players available, the Eagles lost an Arrowhead Conference game Tuesday in Oglesby.

Maddy Freeman scored 17 points for IVCC, which played the second half with only five players after Taylor Quiram fouled out in the first half.

Sophie Harris added nine points for the Eagles.
