Seth Adams notched a hat trick as No. 9-seeded La Salle-Peru beat No. 8 Morris in a Class 2A La Salle-Peru Regional quarterfinal Saturday in Morris.
Brayan Gonzalez also scored for the Cavaliers, who advance to ply No. 2 Sterling in a semifinal at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Fieldcrest senior Mason Stoeger ran a 15:45 on Saturday to win the Heart of Illinois Conference Meet.
Pacey Mangan (18:05), Caleb Krischel (18:10) and Mike Scott (18:20) also helped the Knights to a fifth-place finish.
In the girls meet, Clare Phillips ran a 22:17 to help Fieldcrest to a seventh-place finish.
At Maple Park
Matt Beard (16:53) and Ryan Hartman (17:04) placed 11th and 14th, respectively, at the Interstate Eight Conference Meet on Saturday.
The pair helped the Cavaliers to a fifth-place finish.
In the girls race, L-P placed seventh behind a 26th-place finish by Mallely Ontiveros (22:12).
Amboy co-op’s Brock Loftus ran a 15:43 to place fifth at the Peoria Heights Invitational on Saturday at Detweiller Park.
Loftus helped the Clippers to an eighth-place finish among the 39 teams. Bureau Valley finished 26th, Henry-Midland was 30th and Princeton was 33rd.
Amboy’s Kyler McNinch (16:43) and Ian Eller (16:46) placed 25th and 26th, respectively, and Bureau Valley’s Elijah House (16:55) was 33rd.
In the girls race, Amboy’s Lauren Althaus finished an area-best 38th in 20:29, while Princeton’s Lexi Bohms was 56th in 20:51.
Princeton placed 20th among the 28 teams, while Bureau Valley was 27th.
Putnam County went 2-2-1, including a 25-9, 25-16 victory over Ottawa, to win the consolation bracket at the Mendota tournament.
Tori Balma had 52 assists, 18 digs, 11 kills and six points for the Panthers (15-15-1), Zofia Uzella had 22 digs, 21 points, six aces and 18 kills and Ava Hatton added 35 digs, 14 kills, 14 points and seven aces.
La Salle-Peru co-op’s Peyton Heagy placed fourth in a pair of events Saturday at the Morrison Invitational.
Heagy placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.6) and the 100 freestyle (54.1) as the Cavaliers took ninth among the 12 teams.
