Roundup: L-P boys golf places 5th in Interstate 8 Tournament

La Salle-Peru’s Connor Noramcyzk and Coleman Rundle each carded a 79 on Monday to tie for 13th at the Interstate 8 Conference Tournament at Bliss Creek Golf Course in Sugar Grove.

The Cavaliers placed fifth with a 325. Kaneland won with a 297.

L-P’s Carter Fenza shot an 81 to place 19th, while teammates Noah Rietgraf and Caden Valenzuela tied for 25th with 86s.

St. Bede def. Seneca, 25-23, 25-21

Emily Robbins put down seven kills and had five digs as the Bruins earned a nonconference victory in Peru.

Lia Bosnich had eight kills and a block for St. Bede, while Mia Water added eight digs.

Earlville def. Midland, 25-11, 25-7

Emma Benson had 15 assists and six aces as the Red Raiders rolled to a nonconference victory in Varna.

Elizabeth Browder put down seven kills for Earlville (14-3), while Brynn Guelde and Nevaeh Sansone each added five kills.

Gio Garcia and Brayan Gonzalez each scored a goal as the Cavaliers lost in the first round of the Interstate 8 Conference Tournament in Rochelle.

Erick Laurrabaquio-Moscosa made 12 saves for L-P.

The Little Giants dropped a Little Ten Conference match in double overtime in Newark.

Serena 4, Earlville 2

Diego Vazquez had a goal and an assist as the Red Raiders lost a Little Ten Conference match in Serena.

Griffin Cook also scored a goal for Earlville, while Ryan Browder had an assist.

St. Bede’s Aleanna Mendoza shot a 43 in a triangular at Deer Park Golf Club.

Ottawa and Seneca tied at 188, with Ottawa winning on a fifth-score tiebreaker, while St. Bede did not have enough golfers for a team score.

Gianna Grivetti carded a 44 for the Bruins, while Brianne Briggs added a 51.

The Tigers won two doubles matches as they lost a dual meet in Sterling.

Olivia Alter and Maggie Davis won, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 1 doubles, while Audrey Nelson and Sadie Thornton earned a 6-4, 3-6, 10-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
