Ava Lannen won the No. 2 singles bracket at the Lady Cavs Invitational on Saturday to help host La Salle-Peru to a second-place finish.
The Cavaliers tallied 21 points to finish behind Dunlap (23). Mendota (12) was sixth in the eight-team field, while Princeton (10) was seventh.
Also for L-P, Carlie Miller took second at No. 1 singles, while Angela Smudzinski and Jenesis Greening were runners-up at No. 2 doubles.
Princeton’s Olivia Alter and Maggie Davis won the No. 1 doubles title.
For Mendota, Alex Stremlau placed fourth at No. 1 singles.
BOYS GOLF
At Mendota
Princeton carded a 246 on Saturday to place second in Mendota’s Modified Tyder Cup at Mendota Golf Club.
Ottawa won with a 229. The host Trojans (248) placed third, Hall (250) was fourth, St. Bede (253) took sixth, La Salle-Peru (264) was eighth, Bureau Valley (266) was ninth and Putnam County (291) was 10th in the 12-team field.
The duo of Jarrett Carr and Jack Bauer led the Tigers with an 81, while Jaden Eggers and Karter Patterson carded an 82 and Jordan Reinhardt and Josh Peterson added an 83.
Hall’s cousin pair of Landen and Grant Plym was runner-up with a 73 beating St. Bede’s Jake Delaney and Brandon Pillion (73) on a scorecard tiebreaker.
Mendota’s Ethan Hanaman and Logan Brandner placed sixth with a 77, Bureau Valleu’s Bryson Smith and Seth Spratt took seventh with an 80 and L-P’s Carter Fenza and Connor Noramczyk was eighth with an 81.
Chris Uzella and John Wiesbrock led the Panthers with an 88. Uzella hit a hole-in-one.
BOYS SOCCER
Mendota 3, Monmouth-Roseville 0
Yahir Diaz scored a pair of goals and had an assist Saturday to lead the Trojans to a victory in Mendota.
Johnathan Cortez had a goal and an assist for MHS (16-0), while Jasiel Watson added an assist.
COED CROSS COUNTRY
At Kewanee
Brock Loftus ran a 16:35 on Saturday to win the individual title at the Kewanee Invitational while helping the Amboy co-op win the team championship.
The Clippers notched 26 points to beat second-place IVC (66). Henry-Midland (82) took fourth among the five full teams.
Amboy’s Ian Eller placed third in 17:20, Bureau Valley’s Elijah House took fourth in 17:35, Mendota’s Alex Hermosillo finished sixth in 18:26, Henry-Midland’s Eric Garrison was 11th in 18:53 an St. Bede’s Miguel Jones finished 18th in 19:05.
In the girls race, Henry-Midland’s Nakeita Kessling (21:46) and Hope Self (21:50) were 10th and 11th, respectively.
The Timberducks placed fourth among the six teams with 97 points. IVC won with 40.
Amboy’s Lauren Althaus placed 13th in 22:14.
At Sterling
La Salle-Peru’s Ryan Hartman placed 18 in 16:27 at the Rock River Run on Saturday.
The Cavaliers placed 14th among the 18 team with 398 points, while Princeton (485) was 17th.
Christian Yepsen paced Princeton as he finished 91st in 18:23.
In the girls race, Princeton’s Lexi Bohms placed 22 in 20:55. Mallely Ontiveros led L-P as she finished 59th in 21:48.
L-P (365) finished 14th and Princeton (389) was 16th. Kaneland won with 74 points.
At Herscher
Fieldcrest’s Mason Stoeger ran a 15:21 to place second at the Herscher Invitational on Saturday.
The Knights did not have enough runners for a team score.
In the girls race, Allie Wiesenhofer led the Knights as she placed 21st in 23:49.
Fieldcrest placed sixth among the seven teams.
VOLLEYBALL
At Braidwood
Putnam County went 2-3 to place sixth at the Reed-Custer Tournament.
In pool play, the Panthers beat Momence (25-21, 25-23) and lost to Maroa-Forsyth (25-10, 25-12).
In bracket play, Putnam County lost to Unity (25-15, 25-14), beat Mendota (18-25, 25-21, 15-9) and lost to Morris.
Tori Balma had 69 assists, 25 digs, 13 kills, 11 points and an ace for PC, while Maggie Richetta contributed 36 kills, 19 digs, 17 points, eight aces and six blocks.

Milford-Cissna Park 48, Amboy-LaMoille 46
The Clippers led 40-28 in the fourth quarter before the Bearcats scored 20 points down the stretch to pull out the victory Saturday in Milford.
Sawyer Laffoon scored on a 1-yard run with two minutes give the Bearcats the lead.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
At Rockford
IVCC split a pair of matches Saturday, beating Bryant & Stratton (25-16, 23-25, 25-12, 25-8) and losing to Rock Valley (25-11, 25-14, 25-23).
Against Bryant & Stratton, Paige Champlin had 48 assists and 12 digs, Aubrey Garretson put down 17 kills and Kaylee Hammerich had 15 digs and 12 kills.
Champlin had 19 assists and six digs against Rock Valley.

Pumi Maphumulo scored a goal on an assist from Joel Fiegeuroa on Saturday as the Eagles lost a non-conference game in La Salle.
