Luke Story scored 21 points Friday as the Bruins nearly pulled off a comeback victory in a Three Rivers Conference loss in Peru.
St. Bede trailed by 11 points at halftime before cutting the deficit to five after three quarters.
Logan Griggs had 13 points, Oskar Flodstrom scored 12 and Braden Damerell added 10 for the Bruins.
“I couldn’t be more proud of how hard we played and fought,” St. Bede coach Brian Hanson said.

Sophia Harris scored 18 points, grabbed four rebounds and blocked a shot as the Lady Panthers held off the Lady Mallards for a Tri-County Conference victory in Granville.
Caitlyn Cioni had 11 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists for the Lady Panthers, while Ava Hatton added nine points and five rebounds.
Fieldcrest 55, Lexington 43
Ashlyn May had 13 points, five assists, five steals and five rebounds to lead the Knights to a Heart of Illinois Conference victory in Lexington.
Haley Carver added 14 points for Fieldcrest (9-1, 8-1 HOIC), while Kaitlin White and Riley Burton added seven points each.
