Area roundup: Henry girls basketball tops Midland

Keally Braman drained 5 of 8 3-pointers and finished with 19 points to go along with three steals to lead the Henry-Senachwine/Lowpoint-Washburn girls basketball team to a 60-36 victory over Midland in a Tri-County Conference game Monday.

Tandyn VanEtten had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Mallards, while Sayge Weidman contributed nine points, four assists and two steals.

Earlville 44, DePue 13

Alexis Olson scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Monday as the Lady Red Raiders rolled to a Little Ten Conference victory in DePue.

Elizabeth Browder added 12 points for Earlville.

Fieldcrest 59, Flanagan-Cornell/Woodland 33

The Knights bounced back from their first loss of the season by jumping to a 30-4 lead after one quarter and cruising to a Heart of Illinois Conference victory Monday in Flanagan.

Haley Carver scored a game-high 17 points, Ella Goodrich had 14 points, and Ashlyn May contributed 12 points, seven assists and five steals for Fieldcrest (8-1, 7-1 HOIC).

Roanoke-Benson 41, Putnam County 33

Erin Brooker had eight points and two assists Monday as the Lady Panthers dropped a Tri-County Conference game in Roanoke.

Caitlyn Cioni also scored eight points for PC.

Dixon 47, Mendota 27

Daisy Arteaga drained four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points as the Lady Trojans lost a Big Northern Conference game Monday in Mendota.

Olivia Weber bowled a 574 series Monday to help the Lady Cavaliers to an Interstate Eight Conference victory in Peru.

Isabella Weber added a 544 series for L-P.

BOYS BOWLING

Sycamore 3,650, La Salle-Peru 3,650

Landen Miller rolled a 695 series Monday as the Cavaliers came up short in an Interstate Eight Conference match on the road.

Chance Hank had a 632 series, while Maverick Andrews added a 612 series for L-P.

COED BOWLING

At Mendota

St. Bede and Mendota split Monday.

Aubree Acuncius rolled a 563 series Monday to lead the Lady Bruins to a 2,933-2,149 victory. Marissa Boehm added a 538 series for St. Bede.

Janeth Hermosillo led the Lady Trojans with a 442.

In the boys match, Landen Bauer bowled a 656 series with a 266 high game to help the Trojans to a 3,073-2,744 victory. Kasen Novak contributed a 613 series for MHS.

Anton Cain paced the Bruins with a 584 series.

At Streator

Kennedy Pelzer rolled a 492 series Monday as a three-player Hall girls squad defeated a two-player Streator team 1,240-873.

In the boys match, a five-player Streator team beat a three-player Hall squad 2,604-1,937. Marshall Schmollinger had a 489 for the Red Devils.

Fieldcrest 69, Dwight 41

Jaxon Cusac-McKay scored a game-high 22 points Monday to lead the Knights to a non-conference victory in Minonk.

Henry Lorton had 13 points for Fieldcrest, while Noah Nordstrom added 11 points.

Hinckley-Big Rock 55, LaMoille-Ohio 17

The Lions fell in a Little Ten Conference game Monday in LaMoille.
