Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp to launch app, new website

The Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp announced Wednesday the team is developing a mobile app and a new team website.

The app will allow fans of the collegiate summer baseball team to access rosters, leaderboards, stats, schedule, merchandise and more. Coupons and special offers also will be on the app, which is available for Apple and Android devices.

The app will feature a rewards program where registered users can receive points for attending games or community events and can scan QR codes at special opportunities for points.

The points can be redeemed for merchandise and other rewards.

The app also will have a “Fan Cam” where fans can share their game night photos.

“Our goal is to give our fans the best possible experience, and the mobile app is the perfect way to deliver fun and convenience,” Pistol Shrimp general manager June Keeley said in a news release. “We have wanted to create an app for a while, and this felt like the perfect time. The community has been so wonderful to us, and we believe they will really enjoy this. It will also be helpful to instantly notify fans of rain or weather delays and other important information by sending notifications.”

The new website “will have a dynamic fresh new look and offer much more functionality for visitors.”

The app and website will launch this spring.
