Peru Police releases tentative route for Tuesday’s Jelani Day March

March is set to begin at the Peru Police Department and end on Water Street

After fielding numerous calls regarding the Oct. 26 Jelani Day Rainbow Coalition March in Peru, the police department has released a tentative route for the demonstration.

While this route has yet to be finalize with coalition organizers, the march is slated to begin at the police department before heading south on North Peoria Street.

The march will then continue onto Peoria Street to Route 6 and then turn east to Putnam Street before proceeding south to Water Street.

Representatives have stated that due to the length of the route, it is most likely everyone involved will be in vehicles and caravan to Water Street where a prayer service will be conducted.

If there are any changes to this route, the Peru Police Department will put out another release and post the changes on its Facebook page.
