La Salle-Peru High School is set to kick off the upcoming 2021 Homecoming Week beginning on Sept. 27.
Community events will include the annual Variety Show that will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 in Sellett Gym. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with a $3 admission fee.
The Homecoming Parade will then take place at 4 p.m. Sept 29. The parade will begin at Fourth and Schuyler streets in Peru and continue along Route 6 into La Salle before turning South at Bucklin Street to finish along First Street.
There will then be a powderpuff football game for students flowing the parade at the L-P Sports Complex.
The Homecoming Varsity Football game against Woodstock North High School is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Oct. 1 as the Homecoming Court will be recognized between the freshman and varsity games.
Some student activities throughout the week will include themed school days with Class Colors day on Sept. 27, Twin Day on Sept. 28, Jersey Day on Sept. 29, Flashback Day on Sept. 30 and Spirit Day with a pep rally at the end of Oct. 1.
The Homecoming Dance will then be from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 2 inside the track at the L-P Sports Complex. Tickets will cost $10 per student.
L-P students can bring dates from other high schools with a dance request form that must be completed by Sept. 27.
These forms are available from the School Safety Office. Homecoming tickets and T-shirts also will be sold during all lunch periods during the week.
