Schweickert Family Trust donates $5,000 to Illinois Valley YMCA

Funds will be used to provide services on a daily basis

Steven Schweickert recently presented a check for $5,000 to the Illinois Valley YMCA and its director David Potthoff. The donation was provided by the Charitable Trust of Attorney Doug and Rorie Schweickert. Potthoff thanked the family for their donation. The YMCA said the gift will be used for services, including child care, before and after school programs, swimming lessons, senior activities and sport opportunities. Steven Schweickert recently presented a check for $5,000 to the Illinois Valley YMCA.

The donation was provided by the Charitable Trust of Attorney Doug and Rorie Schweickert. Potthoff thanked the family for their donation to the organization and all they have done for the local community.

“It’s a credit to the Schweickert family and great to see sons Steven and Scott involved in the charitable giving,” Potthoff said.

The YMCA said the gift will be used for services, including child care, before and after school programs, swimming lessons, senior activities and sport opportunities.

Nobody is turned away because of inability to pay for the YMCA programs. Doug and Rorie Schweickert have contributed to organizations such as the YMCA, city of Peru and Peru Ambulance, among others.
