Letter: Our justice system remains a golden jewel in self-government

To the Editor:

For my democracy, I will speak truth to power. I will embrace the whole truth and shun any less. I will fight to preserve a free and fair press, for an educated electorate is the best path forward. I will shine a light on hypocrisy, on corruption, on inequality and injustice.

I am neither Democrat or Republican; not liberal or conservative. I am an independent American, one citizen of this great democratic republic. As such, I hold the rule of law sacred to my democracy. Our justice system, while not perfect, remains a golden jewel in self-government. Those who would delay or deny justice for all, may also weaken the foundation of our “great experiment.”
