• Joshua Jordan, 30, of Streator, was picked up on a La Salle County warrant for failure to appear (domestic battery) at 9:51 p.m. Thursday in his residence, Streator police said.
• Shaina Valdez, 21, of Ottawa, was arrested 9:39 p.m. Thursday at her residence on the 1100 block of West Madison Street in Ottawa on a La Salle County warrant for a charge of delivery of a controlled substance, the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office said. Valdez was taken to La Salle County Jail.
• Frank Wicker, 65, of Berwyn, was arrested 11:10 a.m. Wednesday after a single-vehicle crash at East 29th Road and U.S. Route 52 in Mission Township on complaints of driving under the influence and failure to report an accident to a police authority, the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies said Wicker was going east on U.S. 52 when he failed to make the turn to head south on East 29th Road and his vehicle went off the roadway to the east and struck a stop sign. He left the scene. His vehicle again left the roadway at East 29th and North 3050th roads and was stuck in a ditch. Wicker refused medical treatment.
• Kim Duffy, 68, of Sheridan, was cited 7:10 a.m. Thursday after a two-vehicle crash at North 4650th and East 29th roads in Northville Township on a complaint of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies said Duffy was heading south on East 29th Road and stopped at the stop sign with North 4650th Road. Duffy proceeded into the intersection and struck a vehicle driven by Michael Umano, 59, of Sandwich. No injuries were reported.
• Mark A. Hernandez, 47, of Ottawa, was arrested Thursday at Woodward Memorial Drive and Clinton Street on a complaint of DUI, Ottawa police said.
Fire calls
• At 5:57 p.m. Thursday, Streator firefighters responded to 609 E. Bridge St. for an activated carbon monoxide detector. Carbon monoxide was found in the home, a faulty furnace the cause. The furnace was repaired, and firefighters returned to the home Friday to confirm that the issue was resolved.
• Streator firefighters responded 11:28 a.m. Thursday to 1401 N. Otter Creek St., Apt. 114, for a dryer fire where flames were visible. The fire was extinguished by the time firefighters arrived, and the dryer had been removed from the home.
