The party included croquet games and painting the roses red, among other activities geared toward Lewis Carroll’s classic “Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland.” The tea party also featured dressed-up characters, such as Alice, the Cheshire Cat, the Red Queen and the March Hare. Party goers were encouraged to present their roses to the Red Queen for her approval, if the red rose was deemed unacceptable it was “off with their head” — in what was a playful interaction between those in attendance.

The activity took place in the recently renovated Soderstrom Room of the library. The multipurpose room, made possible through donations by Reuben Soderstrom’s family, is equipped with a kitchenette and fireplace, and plenty of working space for larger events.
