Hines VA offering flu vaccines, blood pressure checks, enrollment into health care at Ottawa event

Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital’s Community Outreach Team will offer flu vaccinations, blood pressure checks and enroll interested veterans into VA health care on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the American Legion Post 33, 901 La Salle St., Ottawa.

The outreach team will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All area veterans are welcome to attend. VA health care is not required for veterans to receive a flu vaccination or blood pressure check.

“Many Ottawa veterans may not know they have quality health care available right down the road at our La Salle Community Based Outpatient Clinic,” said Patrick Grimes, Hines VA’s outreach coordinator leading Wednesday’s event. “Hines VA is here in your community to help fellow veterans access the resources and care they earned through their service.”

Veterans should bring a copy of their DD-214 and a photo ID.
