La Salle County Health Department

The La Salle County Health Department is addressing common questions after it moved all COVID-19 test scheduling to online last week.

Mainly, the health department wants people to know that testing for children under three-years-old must have two accompanying adults, walk-ins are no longer accepted and that people should cancel appointments if they are no longer needed.

The health department also wants to ensure everyone inputs the correct cellphone number, email, and date of birth in the proper field when scheduling a test.

Tests available right now are the Abbott BinaxNOW test, which is available at no cost for symptomatic people, along with the PCR test which is available for everyone, the results of which will take days to get back.

The Abbot IDNOW Rapid Molecular/NAAT test is also available for a $41 fee that must be paid ahead of the appointment, the results of which will be available within 15 to 20 minutes.

A testing appointment can be made at https://hipaa.jotform.com/220026540796151 and additional questions can be answered by the La Salle County Health Department at 815-433-3366.
