Streator man identified as man shot dead in South Streator

A 23-year-old Streator man was identified as the man shot dead Sunday on the 1600 block of South Bloomington Street in South Streator.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting death occurred following a home invasion. The deceased man did not live at the residence. The La Salle County Coroner’s Office said Monday that Austin M. Adamchak was pronounced dead at OSF Center for Health-Streator.

The coroner conducted an investigative autopsy Monday and the incident is under further investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Division.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said the incident was isolated with no immediate danger to the public.
