K-2 students get opportunity to learn about insects

The following events are scheduled the week of Oct. 18 at Reddick Library, 1010 Canal St., Ottawa. Call 815-434-0509 for more information.

1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18: Mystery Monday Book Club, adults. The book “The Searcher” by Tana French will be discussed at this librarian-run book club. New members are always welcome. Copies of the book are available for check out from the library.

4 to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18: Buggy adventures, kindergarten through second grade. Go inside the world of insects with fun activities as children discover what devices insects use to survive.

10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19: Ready, Set, Read!, ages 3-6. A story time to help children develop literacy skills while enjoying songs, dances and stories. Pre-registration is required. Contact the library for details.

10 and 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20: Shake, Rattle, Read!, ages 9-36 months. A fun, musical story time. Pre-registration is required. Contact the library for details.

5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20: BINGO Blitz, third through sixth grades.

6:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Wednesday, Oct. 20: BINGO Blitz, seventh through 12th grades.

1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21: Chair Yoga, adults. Everyone is welcome to join Yoga instructor Dianne Nudo Mostek for free Yoga sessions incorporating gentle chair-based poses.

5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21: Fall Crafternoon, third through fifth grades. Create several make and take seasonal crafts to decorate a room or locker.

1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23: Loop Group Learn how to knit or crochet in a fun environment with knowledgeable people. Everyone is welcome to drop in.
