Of 119 hospitalized at OSF for COVID-19, 83 unvaccinated

OSF chain reports 3 more hospitalized, less patients in ICU and on ventilators

OSF HealthCare said Wednesday 119 patients are hospitalized with COVID-19 at 14 of its 15 hospitals. That total is up three from last week.

Of those 119 patients with COVID-19, 83 are unvaccinated and 36 are fully vaccinated, the hospital said — 27 of those patients are in ICU (24 unvaccinated, three fully vaccinated) and 10 on ventilators (nine unvaccinated, one fully vaccinated). Compared to last week, that is three less patients in ICU and seven less patients on ventilators.

OSF has hospitals in Ottawa, Princeton, Mendota and Pontiac.

As of Wednesday, the Centers for Disease and Prevention Control reported La Salle County has had eight new hospital admissions among its residents in the past seven days.

At Morris Hospital, there were six patients hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Wednesday — five of them are unvaccinated. Two of those patients are in ICU and one is on a ventilator, each of them are not vaccinated.
