Storm watch: La Salle, Bureau, Putnam, Livingston counties residents should be on alert

Storms capable of downing tree limbs, bringing heavy rains

Areas along Interstate 80 and to its south should be on alert for storms until about 9 p.m., said the National Weather Service in Chicago.

A line of strong storms is expected Wednesday night. The main threat for storms will generally be along and south of I-80 in La Salle, Bureau, Putnam and Livingston counties. Isolated storms are possible elsewhere.

Winds strong enough to take down tree limbs, lightning strikes and downpours of rain are possible with these storms.
