Mimi Bryan Scholarship available to high school students

Deadline extended to July 1

Indian Valley Theatre in Sandwich will offer the annual Mimi Bryan Memorial IVT Scholarship in the amount of $250 to an area student(s) again this year, extending the deadline to July 1. The scholarship will be awarded in late summer.

Mimi Bryan was one of Indian Valley Theatre’s passionate founding members, dreaming big about live community theatre. As a long time educator, Mimi was active on stage, as well as, behind the scenes. Most importantly, she was instrumental in giving many budding actors a shot on stage and bringing community theater to life for hundreds of people in the Fox Valley area to enjoy. In the spirit of her significant contributions to the Fox Valley Theatre World, IVT offers this scholarship annually.

A scholarship application is available through the applicant’s local high school guidance counselor or by contacting Sharon Pagoria@press@indianvalleytheatre.com. It also will be available on IVT’s new website at http//indianvalleytheatre.com, where there is more information about Mimi Bryan.

The application must include a short written personal response to several questions. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have participated in the fine arts area, especially IVT productions, and may be interested in receiving further education in that field. However, a fine or performance arts major or minor is not required to qualify for the scholarship.

A scholarship review committee of the Indian Valley Theatre Board of Directors will consider all complete applications submitted. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating, college bound senior from high schools in Sandwich and the surrounding communities.

If you would like to make a contribution to the Mimi Bryan Memorial Scholarship with a tax deductible donation, contact Kathie Hart, IVT president, at 815-786-4878 or Sharon Pagoria, scholarship chair at above e-mail.
