Free lunch will be served May 8 at Park Place in Streator

BBQ sandwiches will be served with help from Streator High School Key Club

The May free lunch is scheduled 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Park Place, 406 E. Hickory St., Streator. The meal will be provided by and served by the Streator High School Key Club.

This month’s menu will be BBQ sandwiches, chips, pasta salad and dessert.

Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the lunch will continue to be carryout only.

The free lunch is in its 10th year and the Hardscrabble Lions Club continues to be the sponsor of this program. It is currently co-sponsored by the Park Church Deacons. The meal is open to anyone. If an organization would be interested in providing and serving a meal, contact Donna at 815-822-8988 as there are open months available.

If anyone is interested in joining forces with the Hardscrabble Lions Club, the club has taken on a new venture. On Sept. 25, the Hardscrabble Lions will be hosting Pluto Fest in the City Park, joining forces with The Walldogs and the Food Truck Festival that day.
