Ottawa High School’s final day set tentatively for May 21

District used one of its emergency days through school year

Ottawa High School’s last day is tentatively set for Friday, May 21, barring the need to call any more emergency days.

Superintendent Michael Cushing said as long as the snow Tuesday isn’t anything more than forecast, the district will make it through the semester having used one of its emergency days Feb. 16.

Cushing also clarified to the board that graduation would be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 28, at King Field, with Saturday, May 29, being the backup day. If graduation is moved to Saturday, school officials may have to move the graduation indoors.

Prom will be hosted at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 15, for seniors only.

The board will meet again at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, for its reorganization of the board meeting.

Don Harris, George Shanley and Karen Fisher will all return to the board joined by Laurence Bartman, who earned a seat formerly occupied by Gene Duffy. Duffy opted not to run for re-election.
