Streator Elementary students will attend in-person 5 days a week in 2021-2022 school year

Students will need a doctor’s note to opt out of in-person attendance

All Streator Elementary students will return to full five-days-per-week in-person instruction beginning in August, according to an announcement issued by the district.

“We are excited for our students to return to the buildings five days a week and are hopeful that remote learners will return too,” district officials said within the announcement.

For this school year, students are divided into two groups A and B. Students in the A group attend Monday and Thursday, students in the B group attend Tuesday and Friday, and every student attends an e-learning session on Wednesday. Parents in the district also had the option to have their students attend through only e-learning.

Students who need to remain a remote learner will need to provide the district with a doctor’s note medically excusing them from school in order to qualify for remote learning. The note will need to state the student medically needs remote learning at home.

“We are unsure of how remote instruction will be provided at this point, but current plans do not include using any of our own staff members for remote learning during the 2021-2022 school year,” district officials said.

School principals will communicate further information to parents as necessary.
