Drug-induced homicide case from Marseilles continued to Feb. 7

Lake Barrington man charged with delivering fentanyl to a teen

A Lake Barrington man will stand trial Feb. 7 on charges he delivered a drug containing fentanyl to a 15-year-old, of Marseilles, who died of an overdose.

Brian K. Mulcahy, 56, appeared Wednesday to face an amended charge of drug-induced homicide, a Class X felony carrying 6-30 years and no possibility of probation.

Trial was initially set for Monday, but Judge Cynthia M. Raccuglia granted a continuance. Mulcahy will next appear Jan. 27.

Mulcahy was charged for allegedly delivering, on April 18, an unspecified controlled substance containing fentanyl to an individual identified only as “C.J.M.” The teen inhaled a portion of the substance and died, Marseilles police said.
