A Dwight woman who had been reported missing was identified as the victim of a crash discovered Friday in Grundy County, according to its coroner’s office.
Felicia Hall, 28, was reported missing from Dwight on Wednesday. She was last seen after leaving a business in the Dwight area. Friday afternoon her vehicle was discovered near the intersection of Scully Road and Campus Blacktop, northeast of Dwight, in Garfield Township.
According to the coroner’s office, it appears the vehicle was traveling east on Scully Road when the driver failed to negotiate the curve. The vehicle traveled several hundred feet through a grassy area before striking the underside of the bridge on Campus blacktop. The vehicle’s final resting spot was in the creek beneath the bridge.
Preliminary investigation indicates the crash occurred 24 to 48 hours prior to being discovered mid-afternoon Friday. Hall was pronounced dead Friday, after the crash was discovered.
The crash remains under investigation by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department along with Dwight Police Department investigating the missing person report and the coroner’s office with the death investigation.
