The Somonauk baseball team topped Indian Creek 8-1 in six innings in Little Ten Conference play. Winning pitcher Jake Morsch struck out seven in five innings and added an RBI single, Joel Calderon had a three-run double, while Brandon Kramer and Johnny Wathen posted RBIs.

The Earlville-Leland softball squad scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a 2-1 LTC triumph over Somonauk as Alyx Gunderson tied the game with an RBI single and Kim Goodbred scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch. Deana Hanley was the winning pitcher and Kelsey Boltz had three hits for the Red Raiders. The Bobcats’ starting pitcher Jen Keenan fanned eight but received a no-decision, while Amanda Napolitano drove in her team’s only run.

The Sandwich baseball team defeated Lisle, 2-0. T,C, Blanford homered and drove in both runs for the Indians, while Brendan Ament hurled a complete-game shout out allowing four hits and fanning four.

The Seneca softball team blanked Plano, 2-0. Winning pitcher Vanessa Osborne allowed just three hits and struck out seven in the complete-game effort. Osborne and Amy Gumm (double) both had two hits each.

The Woodland softball team trailed host Tri-Point 5-3 through five innings but exploded for 16 runs in the sixth and an eventual 19-6 win. Becky Taylor had three hits for the Warriors, while Megan Majher, winning pitcher Amy Chismarick, Amanda Thorp, Cassie Overrocker, and Shea Stimpert posted two hits apiece.
