Johnson and Johnson vaccination clinics scheduled for Saturdays in La Salle County

Clinics will take place at the La Salle County Health Department

The La Salle County Health Department will be offering Johnson and Johnson “one and done” COVID-19 vaccination clinics on Saturday mornings (by appointment only) at the health department, 717 Etna Road, Ottawa. Individuals must be 18 years old to receive the vaccine.

If you are interested in receiving the Johnson and Johnson vaccine at an upcoming Saturday clinic, call the La Salle County Health Department at 815-433-3366 to schedule an appointment.

The La Salle County Health Department will host a Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccination clinic — in partnership with the Illinois National Guard — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Illinois Valley Community College, 815 N. CDC and FDA have recommended use of J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine resume in the U.S., effective April 23. A review of all available data at this time shows the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine’s known and potential benefits outweigh its known and potential risks for those recommended to receive it, according to the health department. Women younger than 50 years old especially should be aware of the rare risk of blood clots with low platelets after vaccination, and that other COVID-19 vaccines are available where this risk has not been seen.
