La Salle County coronavirus update: More than 500 doses of vaccine administered Friday

6.7% of the county’s population has been fully vaccinated

There were 506 more COVID-19 doses administered to La Salle County residents Friday.

With the new doses, there have been 22,955 doses administered total and 7,331 residents fully-vaccinated, which is 6.7% of the county’s population.

There were 20 new cases Saturday and 25 people removed from isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 10,856 confirmed and probable cases, and of those, 8,649 have been removed from isolation.

Of the 1,497 La Salle County residents tested Wednesday, the latest data available from the Illinois Department of Public Health, 2.6% of them were positive with COVID-19. From Feb. 18-24, the seven-day positivity rate has been 3.6%.

A man in his 80s, a man in his 60s, a woman in her 60s, a man in his 50s, five men in their 30s, a woman in her 30s, a man in his 20s, two women in their 20s, two teenage boys, a teenage girl, a boy younger than 13 and three girls younger than 13 make up the new cases Saturday.
