The Seneca football team didn’t have long to prepare for its Friday night opponent, Clinton.
Turns out Seneca didn’t need it.
The Fighting Irish defeated the host Maroons 50-10 Friday night in a game scheduled just the day before after both programs had their Week 6 matchups canceled.
Seneca — now 2-4 — will visit Momence in Week 7.
Johnsburg 35, Sandwich 0: At Sandwich, the host Indians remained winless on the season with the shutout.
Sandwich (0-6) is scheduled to visit Harvard in Week 7.
Tri-Valley 54, Fieldcrest 6: Koltin Kearfott threw for 75 yards and ran for 45 more and a score as the Knights fell in a Heart of Illinois Conference Large Division game Friday in Minonk.
Landon Modro had four catches for 36 yards for Fieldcrest (0-6), which trailed 28-0 after one quarter and 54-0 at halftime to the unbeaten Vikings (6-0).
