DWIGHT – The Woodland Warriors have played some strong volleyball during this spring season, and that trend didn’t change Wednesday with a short trip down Route 17.
Woodland improved to 10-4 on the season, defeating host Dwight in straight sets, 25-21, 25-19. Jena Easton posted a big night with 15 assists, 10 service points and three aces. Shae Simons added 13 assists, with those sets going to Audrey Jenkins (eight kills), Ella Sibert (seven kills) and Clara Downey (seven kills).
The Warriors are scheduled to play Thursday, hosting Seneca at the Warrior Dome.
Marquette def. Henry-Sen., 23-25, 25-21, 25-22: At Bader Gym, the Crusaders celebrated senior night Tuesday with a come-from-behind Tri-County Conference victory.
The Crusaders put up some big statistics in the thriller, led by Addie McConnaughhay’s 14 kills, 10 digs and three aces. Kaylee Killelea had 38 assists and three aces, Eva McCallum added nine kills, Evelyn Biggins finished with seven kills, Mary Lechtenberg had five kills, Lindsey Kaufmann and Paige Cottingim contributed eight digs apiece and Darby Morganflash recorded six digs.
